A full day in the mountains: the climb to Ratsek hut at 3,300 m with views of the Ak-Sai glacier and Korona Peak. For people with stamina.

The classic route of Bishkek mountaineers. From the alpine camp we climb a steep trail along the Ak-Sai waterfall to Ratsek hut at 3,300 metres. From here the glacier is close at hand, with Korona and Semenov-Tian-Shansky peaks rising above it. The elevation gain is about 1,200 metres, and the ascent takes 4–5 hours. We have lunch and rest at the hut, and in good weather we go out onto the moraine to the tongue of the glacier. We come down by the same trail. The route requires good physical fitness and trekking boots. The guide keeps an eye on how the group is feeling and decides how high to go depending on the weather.

Proper mountain day. Very steep in the upper part, poles are a must. Lunch at the hut was simple but welcome.

Тяжело, но это того стоит. Подъём к хижине Рацека занял почти пять часов, гид дважды проверял, как мы себя чувствуем. Сверху ледник и Корона выглядят нереально.
