A two-day ascent with mountain guides: a night at the Ratsek hut, a summit push over snow and a rocky ridge, and views of the Ak-Sai glacier.
Uchitel Peak is one of the most popular summits of Ala-Archa National Park, an hour's drive from Bishkek. It is the first serious 4,000-metre peak for those who have done some hiking and want to try a mountain route with a rope and crampons. On day one we climb from the mountaineering camp to the Ratsek hut (3,400 m), practise walking in crampons and spend the night in the hut. On day two we set off before dawn, climb a snow and ice slope and a rocky ridge to the summit, and descend to the camp by the evening. The group is no more than six people with two guides. We provide the climbing gear and check everyone's experience and health before departure.
