Three hours cycling around Bishkek in the evening: new bike lanes, boulevards in lights, Ataturk Park and a stop for samsa and tea.
On a summer evening Bishkek is best seen from a bike: the heat eases, the boulevards light up, and the new bike lanes take you across almost the whole centre. We start by the Philharmonic at 19:00. The route is 18 km of smooth lanes: Erkindik Boulevard, Ala-Too Square, Panfilov Park and Ataturk Park with its Ferris wheel. The guide talks about the city at the stops, and halfway we take a break for samsa and tea. The pace is easy, and the route suits anyone confident on a bike. The bikes are city bikes with lights and locks; everyone gets a helmet.
