Good way to see Son-Kul in a weekend. Long drive, but the stops were well chosen.

A weekend at Son-Kul without long hikes: we drive a 4x4 over the Kalmak-Ashuu pass and spend the night in a yurt on the shore.
Want to see Son-Kul but have no time for a week-long trek? This tour was designed exactly for that. We leave Bishkek early in the morning, stop in Kochkor on the way for lunch and to meet shyrdak makers, and then climb the Kalmak-Ashuu switchbacks by 4x4. We spend the evening and the night at a yurt camp right by the water. In the morning you can ride a horse along the shore or simply walk across the pastures. We return by a different road, over the Dolon pass, to see more. The tour suits families with children and people in the mountains for the first time. The altitude is 3,016 m, so bring warm clothes even in July.

Ездили втроём с сыном. Водитель Марат вёл аккуратно, на серпантине Калмак-Ашуу ни разу не было страшно. В юрте тепло, кормили вкусно, утром сын катался на лошади и теперь просится обратно.
